CAANDIDES / Palais de Tokyo
2016 (2036)
poster, video, leaflet, typeface
Caandides were asked to host an evening at Palais de Tokyo (contemporary art museum in Paris) for the 8th edition of the Entre-Deux series. They took us to 2036, to their retrospective exhibition. The band then asked us to create the communication for this ‘fake’ exhibition along with artefacts to be displayed (see here for more info about the exhibition itself).
The identity created for this event has two main components, a cryptic typeface based on the one used by the Palais de Tokyo, and a series of imaginary sponsors' logos. These two elements reflect the future of the contemporary art scene as we imagine it and are meant to depict futuristic concerns and stakes as they highlight the growing bond between art and sponsorship.
